Two special occasions motivate us to initiate our fourth Festival: the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Palau de la Música Catalana, and the opportunity to delight our audience with a performance by one of the world’s most beloved and awaited interpreters: Marianne Faithfull. With this intimate and touching concert, our Festival wishes to pay tribute to the past hundred years of art and music, joining the acts of celebration of the centenary.

The Únicas Festival was conceived, created and designed for the Palau de la Música Catalana. The three previous editions where also

hosted in this temple devoted to the human voice whose beauty and refined architecture make it unique among the concert halls and theatres of the whole world; this is why we chose it as the hallmark of the event. We firmly believed the Palau deserved to house a Festival that would distinguish itself from any other. ÚNICAS has already established itself as a prestigious event thanks to the philosophy it’s based on, the consistency of its proposals and its ability to capture and celebrate female creativity like no other festival has done before.

This is proved by the cultural relevance that ÚNICAS has gained through these years by inviting an array of world-class artists who

had never (or rarely) appeared on our stages, and by the exclusiveness of its programme. We’ve been able to stand out from the rest and appeal to the most demanding audiences by offering performances that could only be witnessed within our festival.

We’ve crafted an extraordinary, multi-faceted line-up for this fourth edition, involving interpreters that won’t just captivate their audiences for their vocal mastery and their compositional richness, but also for their outstanding ability to communicate and move the audience. We are confident that each performance will be unique, unforgettable and not to be missed.

The Festival is about to begin: get ready for Marianne Faithfull’s gut-wrenching voice, Sinéad O’Connor’s seduction, Any Choying Drolma and Sor Marie Keyrouz’s mystic duo, Mayte Martin’s lyric passion, Ute Lemper’s expressive force and Suzanne Vega’s poetry.
